What is Autism?

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. According to the Centers for Disease Control, autism affects an estimated 1 in 59 children in the United States today.

ABOUT US

Mays_Retrina Logo-KEY.jpg

Many children on the autism spectrum need help in learning how to act in different types of social situations. They often have the desire to interact with others, but may not know how to engage friends or may be overwhelmed by the idea of new experiences. Building up social skills with practice can help enhance participation in the community and support outcomes like happiness and friendships.

Perfect Fit is a non-profit organization that was created from social experiences and concerns with our autistic sons. We decided to establish a foundation that would provide social and recreational opportunities for children affected by autism.

Through our activities and partnerships, we hope to help children and their families get access to care; lead more active lifestyles; and grow toward PERFECTLY FITTING into society in their own unique way.
